This is the fuel for a heart-inspired, energized LIFE. Often this is the fuel that is lacking when we have uncontrollable food cravings,  imbalanced eating habits and frustrating digestive issues.  My goal is to help you restore that essential balance with food, mood and appetite, so that you have reserve energy for all the other important areas of your life.

Do you ever hear yourself saying these words?

It feels like I’ve been hearing this a lot lately – especially with the many distractions that glorious summer weather provides, in addition to our lives already being busy and packed full.  It seems this is a constant struggle we all have to face: How to make time to feed and nourish ourselves at a high quality level – without compromising health and energy in the process?

The good news is we have easy access to endless helpful suggestions on Fast Food ideas, Quick Meal Plans and all manner of time-saving techniques in the kitchen…………  So my question is, why don’t they work? What is the missing ingredient in this equation?  And does it really have anything to do with “time” at all?

I have observed, in my own life and in the lives of people I am close to, there seems to be TWO TYPES OF BUSY. One is supportive and the other – definitely destructive and distracting us from taking good care of our precious health and energy. I’ll outline them as follows: Read the rest of this entry »

Empowered Eating is a way of eating that takes into account ALL OF YOU – including your unique bio-chemistry, body type, personality and emotional make-up. When we can bring all of these qualities to the table, we are able to be supremely nourished by our food choices and more open to receiving inner guidance about what our body really needs to be fed with in order to THRIVE – heal, grow, balance, restore and repair itself. Since my training at The Institute for the Psychology of Eating, I have been blessed to come to a deeper understanding of and CONNECTION to the art of eating in a way that has dramatically increased my health and vibrancy. Prior to learning this style of eating, I was struggling (doing battle) with all kinds of digestive issues, auto-immune disorders and weight imbalance. Now I am at peace with my body and have become empowered with all the tools I need to take care of myself.  I can trust my inner guidance – instead of looking outside of myself for expertise.

Empowered Eating teaches YOU how to become your own best nutritional expert, in some very simple, easy to apply in your daily life, ways. It is my great passion and deep honor to be able to share this with you today…….

There is a lot of “food confusion” in the world today, especially around how and what we are supposed to eat for a long life and the best possible health.  I have developed a unique and simple plan – A TASTE FOR LIFE” –  for restoring balance in your diet and learning how to make smart food choices FOR LIFE, Read the rest of this entry »

and transform them into a “Taste for Life.”
Often times, uncontrollable cravings can be the result of a bold and beautiful HUGE POWER that we are pushing down, but which comes out as an imbalance in the way we eat.   When we eat uncontrollably, this can actually be a golden message that we have a deeper yearning  for our life, that has over time, become suppressed or ignored.  When we continue to ignore the signs, we start to become “consumed by food” and drained of our health and energy, and trapped in a cycle of over-whelm and multiple cravings.  It is hard to look at what we might be really craving – beyond the food – because on some level, we decided that they were impossible desires, or we were not worthy of receiving them, so we threw them away into the deepest corner of our sub-conscious and threw away the key.  My desire for you TODAY, is that this will waken up that part of you that desperately needs to be heard and listened to – so you can open up space for receiving more possibility for growth and expansion in your life.
So lets take a closer look.  What are some things we could really be craving – beyond the food? Read the rest of this entry »

A Well Stocked Fridge
Saves Time

I am often asked how it’s possible to eat well, and not spend crazy amounts of time aimlessly roaming the grocery store or wondering what to prepare for the next meal…..
My answer is a well stocked fridge with something for every appetite! So this week, I decided to LAY BARE the contents of my own fridge and share my secrets to delicious and nutritious meals – that are quick and easy to prepare.

I am also going to share a fabulous recipe for my famous Power Breakfast Granola which will keep you feeling full and satisfied well beyond the mid-morning hunger pangs…… Read the rest of this entry »

If You Want Something in your Life – GIVE IT!

The night before Valentine’s Day found me tossing and turning with the thought of yet another anxiety provoking “holiday”. It ranks up there along with Christmas and New Years for being one I most dread – primarily for the question that is asked  – “What are you doing today?”

Having gone through a divorce, holiday’s like this can especially highlight the loneliness and cravings for deeper connection in my life.  But instead of deciding to bury my head under the sheets and not come out until the day was over……. I had another thought.  Read the rest of this entry »

I’d like to share with you one of my all time inspiring poems….

WEST WIND #2  by Mary Oliver

“You are young. So you know everything. You leap into the boat and begin rowing. But listen to me. Without fanfare, without embarrassment, without any doubt, I talk directly to your soul. Listen to me. Lift the oars from the water, let your arms rest, and your heart, and heart’s little intelligence, and listen to me. There is life without love. It is not worth a bent penny, or a scuffed shoe. It is not worth the body of a dead dog nine days unburied. When you hear, a mile away and still out of sight, the churn of the water as it begins to swirl and roil, fretting around the sharp rocks – when you hear that unmistakable pounding – when you feel the mist on your mouth and sense ahead the embattlement, the long falls plunging and steaming – then row, row for your life toward it.”

“Congratulations! You have a powerful life challenge that will transform you into your Highest Self. THIS IS NOT A WILLPOWER ISSUE.” Marc David, Institute for the Psychology of Eating.

From the “Eating Psychology” approach, binge eating is simply a big energy that has gotten stuck. When we learn to identify, and then release this energy – we are actually able to tap into a BIG powerful force that supports us to achieve our higher goals and a more fulfilled, energized life.

Have you ever noticed when you are absorbed in a soul nourishing activity, such as a fun creative outlet, playing with kids or pets, gardening, reading an inspirational book, or anything else that makes your heart sing…., then you are less likely to crave physical food at those times?  Read the rest of this entry »

In my own healing, I have noticed that the more I clamor after “the fix”,  the deeper I got into a rabbit hole of twists and turns that did not really serve my healing process. Once I learned to let go of the quick fix, healing was a much more joyful experience.

 CURE =                                      HEALING =
* Quick fix                                      * On going

* Not always permanent              * Long term/ Life process

* Manufactured (science,            * Organic – evolving
nutrition etc)

* One size fits all                         * Unique to every individual

* Externally imposed                  * Processing of an internal landscape.

* Focus is on outer                     * Inner peace of mind
appearance. (eg. weight
loss doesn’t match inner

* Given by an “expert”               * YOU become your own expert.

* Personal. You are doing         * Global. Healing yourself
it for yourself.                                       helps others to heal.

* Stuck in “Story”                       *  Re-invention of Self Identity

Come join me for my presentation on “Boosting Your Immunity” and a deeper exploration of these ideas of Healing vs Cure.

Find the Balance in Giving and Receiving

This is a tricky balance to keep because life is constantly pushing us to do more and more each day……, and it feels like saying NO is just not an option.  It feels like we are living in an especially chaotic time where we are being stretched to our limits – and beyond. I think of this giving and receiving energy as 2 fuel gauges.  Typically, our Giving Tank is FULL to the brim, but our Receiving Tank is running on empty. For a healthy harmonious life, there needs to be a balance between the two. Read the rest of this entry »
